There are plenty of ways to stay up-to-date with what your friends are drinking, what's on tap at your local Verified Venue, know when a beer you love has been tapped nearby, learn about updates to Untappd, and promotions available from the Untappd Shop!
You can manage your in-app push notifications by going to Profile > Settings (gear icon) > Notifications > Push Notifications. From here you can adjust the following options:
Enable/Disable Push Notifications
This will toggle whether Untappd sends any push notifications to your device. If this is currently disabled, no other options will appear until they have been enabled. Note that you may need to give Untappd permission to send push notifications in your device settings.
Social
Friend Notifications
Friends added to these lists will generate notifications whenever they check-in. There are two different lists for different types of alerts:
- All - you will get pushed all check-ins that this user has made, irrespective of location
- Nearby - you will get alerts when this user has added a location and is within a selected radius of your last known location.
Toasts
When toggled on, you will receive notifications when another user toasts one of your check-ins.
Comments
When toggled on, you will receive notifications when another user comments on one of your check-ins.
Direct Messages
When toggled on, you will receive notifications when another user sends you a direct message.
Tags and Mentions
When toggled on, you will receive notifications when another user tags or mentions you in a check-in or comment.
Friend Check-In Alerts
The distance selected here will determine the radius of check-in notifications received for friends that you have added to the "Nearby" list.
Beers
Beer Subscriptions
Beers added to this list will generate a notification when the beer is added to a menu of a Verified Venue within a 15 mile radius of your last known location. You can subscribe to beers by navigating to the beer on Untappd and tapping the bell icon.
All Beer Notifications
Toggling this off will turn off all notifications regarding your beer subscriptions. It will not unsubscribe to any of the beers, but simply turn off the notifications until it is turned back on.
General
Product Announcements
Toggling this on will send notifications about product updates to the Untappd application.
Year in Beer
Toggling this on will send notifications about the Year in Beer feature released each December.
Venues
Venue Subscriptions
List of the Verified Venues that you are subscribed to. You can specify which types of notifications you wish to receive from specific venues (or unsubscribe to a venue) by clicking the bell next to a venue.
To subscribe to a venue:
- Navigate to the venue page on Untappd.
- Tap on the "Subscribe" button
- Choose the notification setting you'd like
- Venue Notifications are only available for VERIFIED Venues, Unverified Venues do not have this capability
Venue Became Verified
If this is toggled on, you will receive a notification when an unverified venue you have chosen to track becomes Verified on Untappd.
To track an unverified venue:
- Navigate to the venue page on Untappd.
- Tap on the "Notify Me" button.
New Beers
If this is toggled on, you will receive notifications whenever one of the Verified Venues you've subscribed to adds a new beer to their menu. Note that multiple successive additions in a short period of time will be consolidated into a single notification.
New Events
If this is toggled on, you will receive notifications whenever one of the Verified Venues you've subscribed to posts a new upcoming event.
Event Reminders
If this is toggled on, you will receive notifications 24 hours and 1 hour in advance of any event at a Verified Venue you have marked as either "Interested" in or "Going" to.
Shop Promotions
Wish List Beers Available in Shop
If this is toggled one, you will receive notifications whenever a beer on your Untappd Wish List becomes available for purchase in the Untappd Shop.
Beer Offers and Promotions
If this is toggled on, you will receive periodic notifications when there is a special offer or promotion for beer in the Untappd Shop.
Merchandise Offers and Promotions
If this is toggled on, you will receive periodic notifications when there is a special offer or promotion for merchandise from Untappd and our affiliate brands (Hop Culture, Beer Advocate, etc.) in the Untappd Shop.
