You can share check-ins, check-in photos, and badges with your phone's share sheet. No social account linking is required in Untappd. On your own check-in, open the three-dot menu and tap Share, then choose Share Link, Share Photo, or Share to Instagram Stories. On someone else's check-in, Share sends a link.
Share a check-in
- Find the check-in in the Community tab at the bottom of the screen, or on your profile (tap your avatar at the top right of Discover or Community).
- Tap the three-dot menu on that check-in. On the check-in detail screen, the menu is at the top right.
- Tap Share.
- On your own check-in, choose one:
- Share Link: opens your phone's share sheet with a link to the check-in.
- Share Photo: shares the check-in photo (only when the check-in has one).
- Share to Instagram Stories: adds your check-in to your Instagram Story. This only shows if Instagram is installed.
- Pick the app or destination in the system share sheet and finish the post there.
You'll land in the other app to complete the post.
Share a badge
- Open the badge you earned either from profile or your check-in.
- Tap the Share icon at the top right. This shares a link to your badge.
- Pick the app in your phone's share sheet and finish there.
Having trouble sharing?
- Update Untappd and the app you're sharing to.
- Confirm that destination app is installed.
- On some phones, an app only appears in the share sheet after you have shared to it at least once from another app.
- Restart your phone, then try again.
Good to know
- Untappd does not cross-post check-ins automatically to Facebook, X, or other networks. Sharing is always through the OS share sheet (or Instagram Stories from the submenu).
- Connections under Settings (the gear icon at the top right of Discover, or on your profile) is for Foursquare linking, not for posting check-ins.
- You can also Share Profile from your profile menu. That shares your profile link, not a single check-in or badge.
- If your account is private, you can't share links to your check-ins. Make your account public to share them.
Don't see it?
- Don't see Share Photo? That check-in has no photo, or it isn't yours.
- Don't see Share to Instagram Stories? Install Instagram, or use Share Link / Share Photo instead.
- Sharing check-ins and badges needs an account.
- Seeing "Your Untappd account is private, so you cannot share"? Make your account public, then try again.
