The first time you open Untappd 5.0 on a device, you may see “Your taste in a few taps”. It is optional. Pick any drink types and interests that sound like you, then tap “Continue”. Your answers to “What do you want to explore?” help order the sections on Discover if you haven't customized it yet.
It appears after the location and notification permission prompts.
Personalization options
- When you see Your taste in a few taps, read the line: "Pick anything that sounds like you. We'll use this to curate your experience."
- Under What drinks are you interested in?, tap any chips that fit (you can pick more than one): Beer, Wine, Spirits, Cider, Mead, Non-Alcoholic, Canned Cocktails, Sake, THC / Cannabis, Other.
- Under What do you want to explore?, tap any chips that fit: Local Places, Local Events, Logging Drinks, Badges, Drink Shopping, Trending Places, Local Producers, Trending Drinks, Personalized Suggestions, Travel Planning.
- Tap Continue.
You'll enter the main app. On Discover, section order may reflect what you picked.
Nothing is required. You can leave every chip unselected and still tap Continue. A failed save does not block you from the app.
Change Discover later
Personalization only sets a default Discover order when you have not already customized sections. To reorder anytime:
- Open the Discover tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Organize Sections, drag sections, then tap Update Organization.

Good to know
- Continue is how you finish, with or without selections.
- This is the last setup step. If you've already answered the location and notification prompts, it may be the only one you see.
Don't see it?
Don't see Your taste in a few taps? You've likely already finished it on this device. There is no Settings screen to re-open this questionnaire. Reorder Discover with Organize Sections instead.
