Change the light or dark look and the home screen icon in Settings (the gear icon at the top right of Discover, or on your profile). Under App Settings, tap Appearance. Theme changes apply right away. Some app icons need Insider.
Change app theme
- Open Settings.
- Under App Settings, tap Appearance.
- Tap App Theme, then choose Match System Setting, Light, or Dark.
You'll see the app switch theme immediately. You do not need to restart.
Change app icon
- Open Settings, then tap Appearance under App Settings.
- Under Change App Icon, tap App Icon.
- In Change App Icon, pick an icon under Available, or review Locked icons marked Insiders Only.
Free for everyone: Classic, Beer Saber. Insider-only: Dark Mode, Monochrome, Too Many Check-ins, Year in Beer '24, Year in Beer '23, Beer Salute, Untappd Uniform, Preppd.
The new icon replaces Untappd's icon on your home screen. Your phone may show a message confirming the change.
If you're not an Insider, locked icons stay under Locked. Use Unlock Icons with Insiders to subscribe.
Good to know
- App Theme is available even if you're using Untappd without an account. App Icon is hidden until you have an account.
- Theme changes do not ask you to restart the app. Older restart messages are not used for Appearance.
- If your Insider subscription ends while a premium icon is set, Untappd alerts you and reverts to Classic.
Don't see it?
- Don't see Appearance? Open Settings from the gear on Discover or on your profile (not Community), then look under App Settings.
- Don't see App Icon? It is hidden if you're using Untappd without an account.
- Don't see premium icons as selectable? They stay Locked / Insiders Only until you have Insider.
