Add friends by username, by nametag, or with Invite Friends. Accept or decline requests on Your Friends, and remove a friend from their profile or your friends list.
Open Your Friends
- Open your profile (tap your avatar at the top right of Discover or Community).
- Tap the friends icon at the top of your profile page.
- You'll see your Groups and Friends. Requests waiting for you show under Pending.
Add by username
- On Your Friends, tap the add friends icon at the top right.
- Search for their username or name.
- Tap + next to them to send a request.
- Your friend request is sent and the recipient will be notified.
You can also open someone's profile and tap Send Friend Request.
Add with a nametag
- On Your Friends, tap the QR code icon at the top right. Your nametag appears so friends can scan it.
- To scan a friend's nametag, tap Scan a Nametag.
- You can also open your nametag from the three-dot menu on your own profile. Tap Friend QR Code.
Invite Friends
- On Your Friends, tap the add friends icon at the top right, then tap Invite Friends and share the link.
Accept or decline a request
- Open Your Friends. Requests are under Pending.
- Tap the check mark to accept, or the X to decline.
Remove a friend
- Open their profile and tap the three-dot menu at the top right. Or, on Your Friends, tap the three-dot menu next to their name.
- Tap Remove Friend.
- Tap Remove to confirm.
- They're no longer on your friends list.
Good to know
- Adding someone by Social Networks is no longer available in 5.0. Use username, nametag, or Invite Friends.
- A red indicator on the friends icon means you have a pending request.
- You need to verify your email before you can send friend requests. If you're asked to, tap Verify and follow the steps.
- Seeing "Whoa, slow down there!"? Wait a little while before sending more requests. This limit is a precaution to prevent spam and abuse.
Don't see it?
Don't see the nametag on Discover? It moved to Your Friends. Tap the QR code icon at the top right.
