How to use Groups

Groups let you follow check-ins from a subset of friends. In Untappd 5.0 there is no Groups tab on the feed. Open the Community tab at the bottom of the screen, tap the Friends chip, and use the Groups carousel above the feed. Create and manage groups on Your Friends > Groups.

View a group on Community

  1. Open the Community tab.
  2. Tap the Friends chip.
  3. Tap a group in the Groups carousel above the feed.

You'll see check-ins from only the friends in that group.

Note: If you have no groups set up yet, the carousel can show Create a Group with the line "Groups are a private way to keep up with specific friends at the top of this feed." Tap Hide if you want that prompt gone.

Create a group

  1. Open your profile (tap your avatar at the top right of Discover or Community).
  2. Tap the Friends icon at top of page to open Your Friends page.
  3. Under Groups, tap New +. If you don't have any groups yet, tap Create Group.
  4. Enter a Group Name and select the friends you want to add.
  5. Tap Save.

You'll see the group on Your Friends > Groups as well as in the carousel on Community > Friends.

Add a friend to a group

  1. Open a friend's profile.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu, then Add to Group.
  3. Choose the group.

Add to Group only appears for people you're already friends with. You can also find it in the three-dot menu next to a friend on Your Friends.

Edit a group

  1. Open Your Friends > Group you’d like to edit.
  2. Open the options (...) on the group, then tap Edit Group.

  1. Change the name or members, then tap Save.

Delete a group

  1. Open Your Friends from your profile and find the group under Groups. You can also open the group from Community and use the three-dot menu at the top right.
  2. Open the options (...) on the group, then tap Delete Group.
  3. Tap Delete to confirm.
  4. The group is removed. Your friendships stay. Check-ins are unchanged.

Good to know

  • Groups are private to you. Other people do not see your group list and will not be notified if they’re added to one.
  • A group needs at least one friend before you can save it.
  • The old Activity feed Groups tab is gone. Use Community > Friends > Group selection instead.

Don't see it?

  • Don't see the Groups carousel? Tap Friends on Community (not All Posts).
  • Don't see Add to Group? You must already be friends with that person.
  • Don't see Your Friends? Open your profile from the avatar on Discover or Community, then the Friends icon.
