You can hide the yellow Check-in button (the round + at the bottom right of Discover and Community) from those two tabs. Open Settings (the gear icon at the top right of Discover, or on your profile) > Advanced / Reset, then turn off Show Check-in Button.
The button still appears on drink, producer, and place pages. That part is not controlled by this toggle.
Hide it on Discover and Community
- Open Settings.
- Tap Advanced / Reset (the screen title reads Advanced).
- Find the Show Floating Check-in Button group.
- Turn off Show Check-in Button.
- You'll no longer see the yellow Check-in button on Discover or Community.
Still on drink, producer, and place pages
Open any drink, producer (the brewery, winery, or distillery), or place page. The yellow Check-in button stays available there even when the toggle is off.
You can still check in from Search, from a drink's actions, or from other check-in entry points.
Good to know
- Default is on. Turning it off only changes Discover and Community.
- On drink, producer, and place pages, the same button is labeled Check-in.
- The in-app explainer under this toggle may still mention older tabs. Trust the behavior above.
Don't see it?
- Don't see Show Check-in Button? Open Settings > Advanced / Reset while you have an account. The yellow Check-in button also doesn't show if you're using Untappd without an account.
- Don't see the yellow Check-in button after turning it back on? Return to Discover or Community and look at the bottom right.
- Gear missing on Community? Open Settings from Discover or your profile.
