What does the Square integration do?
This integration connects your Square account directly to your Untappd for Business (UTFB) subscription. When you add, modify, or remove items in Square, those changes automatically appear in UTFB, keeping your menus updated with no manual work.
Is there an extra cost?
- No. The integration is included with your active UTFB and Square subscriptions.
How do I connect Square to UTFB?
- In UTFB, go to Integrations > Square > Connect. Log in with your Square Admin credentials and allow permissions.
How long does setup take?
- Usually just a few minutes. In UTFB, locate the Integrations tab in the menu bar on the left, then click the Connect button on the right of the Square integration section. Once connected, you will be able to import and review menus immediately.
What data syncs from Square?
You can sync all items at the top level of your Square menus, including beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, NA beverages, and food. Nested submenus are not yet supported and will import as flat sections. Note: When importing a category, all items in that category are included, even if they are currently out of stock.
Why can’t I edit my synced menu in UTFB?
- You can't edit synced menus in UTFB because the integration is read-only. UTFB mirrors the structure of your Square menus to keep everything consistent. Tooltips in UTFB will direct you back to Square for edits related to structure, naming, or pricing.
What happens if an item doesn’t match?
- Use Match Now in UTFB to manually search and link the correct item, or hide it if you don’t want it shown.
Common reasons include:
The item is unmatched in the Square Sync page
The item is Out of Stock in Square
The item’s inventory is 0
The item was marked Unavailable in the Square Sync page
The item is part of a nested submenu, which is not imported
How often does it sync?
- Syncs are continuous; changes in Square automatically update UTFB within moments without needing a manual refresh.
What if I want to disconnect?
- Go to Integrations > Square > Disconnect in UTFB. Menus will remain in UTFB but will stop receiving updates.
