You can upload and display ad slides on your digital board of any pictures or slides you've created. Google Slides and Microsoft Powerpoint are two of the most popular programs to use to set these up, but you can use any software to create your slides as long as the output is a .png, .jpg, or .gif file under 5MB in size.
Boards using one of the newer digital menu templates can also show video ad slides. See Adding a Video Slide below.
If you want the slide to fill the screen, the size should conform to the 16:9 or 9:16 aspect ratio. For an HD TV this will be 1920x1080 for a horizontal board or 1080x1920 for a vertical board at minimum. If your TV supports 4K or higher, you can create slides in the corresponding pixel sizes as long as the file remains under 5MB.
To upload a slide, go to the Digital Menus tab and click the name of the board you want to edit:
Next, click on the Design tab and scroll down to Display Information. Check the box next to Ad Slides to activate them on the board.
Now scroll down to Ad Slides. You'll see a button to Add a new slide. Click there and the New slide section will appear above it:
Drag and drop or browse to upload your image, and then choose how long you want the slide to remain on screen under "Ad slide duration."
Adding a Video Slide
On a board using one of the newer templates, you can upload a video to an ad slide the same way you would an image. Videos must be MP4 files at 1080p, up to 20 MB, and we recommend keeping them between 15 and 30 seconds. Each board can have up to two video slides.
A video slide plays with the sound off and runs once all the way through, then the board returns to your menu. Because the clip always plays in full, video slides don't have an ad slide duration setting. You'll see a note saying the video plays in full instead. Image slides keep their duration setting as usual.
Each slide holds either a video or an image, not both. Uploading one in place of the other replaces the old file. When you duplicate a board, its video slides are copied along with everything else.
Note: Video slides are only available on the newer digital menu templates. If you don't see the option to upload a video, you may need to switch the board to a newer template first. See Digital Menu Themes.
You can change the order of the ad slides at any time by using the slider icon on the far right of each slide entry to drag and drop them into place.
Hit the Save and Close button when you're done to save your changes.
