What is Item Detail Order?
Item detail order gives you the ability to modify the order of your item’s details and determine how they are presented in your menu. For example, if you want to show ABV on line one, alongside Producer and Name, you can.
How do I add new details to a line?
Open an existing Print or Digital Menu or create a new one (ensure you are using a supported theme), and click the Design tab.
Within the Designer, open the Item Detail Order section of the builder.
The number of lines shown will be different depending on the theme selected. If you don't see the option for Item Detail Order, you may be using a template that doesn't support it. Please make sure you are using the following templates:
Print Menu
- Cascade
- Aurora
Digital Menu
- Chalkboard
- Full Width
- Two Column
- Two Column Compressed
- Two Column Round Label
- Three Column
- Four Column
- Table One
- Chalkboard Vertical
- One Column Vertical
- Two Column Vertical
What can be reordered?
The defaults depend on the theme you are using, however, in general you are able to choose from the following details: Tap Number, Producer, Name, Style, ABV, IBU, Calories, Characteristics, Vintage, Location, Rating. For themes that support descriptions and containers, those will continue to be on the bottom row.
How do I add a new item?
- Click the down arrow or simply click into the input box. Once you do that, a dropdown selection box will appear.
- Select the detail(s) you want to add. Keep in mind that Item Detail Order is independent of Display Information; this means that even if you see an item to be ordered here in the list, if you don't have that piece of information selected under Display Information, it will not show on your menus.
- Click Save Detail Order to apply the changes. You only have to do this in the print menu builder. The Digital menu builder saves the changes automatically.
If at any time you would like to go back to the default settings, click Reset to Defaults:
How do I change the order of items within a line?
To move an item, for instance to move name to the first position, you can simply click the name element and drag it into the position you want it in. Keep in mind that you cannot drag an item between lines, only within the same line.
Click Save Detail Order to apply the changes.
