Using Untappd V2 on iOS
Untappd Version 2
So are you ready to dive in to the new version of Untappd? I bet you are. Some things may have moved around, so here is an all important guide to getting around!
Navigation
The Navigation hasn't changed too much, but we do introduce the "Discover", but is a listing of the tabs and their definitions:
- The Pub: Previously known as a "Activity", this the area where you will see your friends, global and nearby activity.
- Discover - this is a new tab for this release. You can see nearby friends, beer, and bars,
- My Tab - this your redesigned profile page
- Notices - This shows enhanced notifications and Untappd news.
Finding Friends
In the old version, users would get ready upset when they couldn't find Anderson Valley Summer Solstice in our database, but when realized that they were on the wrong tab (searching for a beer in the friends area).

In the new version, you can access your friends by clicking on the Friends icon on the top left-hand corner on the Friends Feed. From there, you can you can view all your pending friend requests and current friends.

If you want to add friends - you can touch the "Add Friends" logo on the top right. Once you do, you can quick scan your social networks for common friends, and even share with friends on Twitter and Facebook (and email) about joining Untappd!


Activity Feeds

The Activity Feeds have totally been redesigned. You can see comments, toasts and photos in-line on your feed. To toast or comment a check-in, touch the check-in area, and you will be immediately taken to a individual check-in page. You will notice if you hit the back button, the application will keep your scrolled at your previous state.
Individual Check-in Page

On this page, you can comment or toast the check-in and see your results in real-time. The buttons have been redesigned to make it easier on your to find what you are looking. You can also touch the beer or venue to go their page. Also the user's social profile links (on the top right) are click-able and take you their respect pages within the app.
Discover

Discover is a great new feature that will help discover your local world of beer. In discover you have the following options:
- Find Beer Buddies - a interactive map of your surrounding area that can help you find your buddies and where they are drinking (Note: Only public venues are included in this function, no private homes)
- Find Beer - Searches around you for popular beer in your area
- Find Bars - Searches around you to find the top checked in bars
- Trending Beers - Global Trending Beer around the world
Find Beer Buddies

In this view - you can see a list of all your friends within a default 5 mile radius. You can this in the settings up to 30 miles. Your location will be shown with a blue dot and your friends will be shown in Gold Marker. You can touch friends marker to automatically see where they are and how long ago.
This map shows only current friends within the last 2 hours. You can touch the pop-up to view the Venue Page for the location.
REMINDER: This is not public data, only your friends will appear on this app. Everyone is opted in my default. You can turn this off in your Settings within the app.
Find Beer

This tab will show you the top trending beers based on your location. It will also show where that beer was consumed at last and how far away it is from your current location.
You can touch on the beer or the venue area to go their respective pages.
Find Bars

This is one of our favorite new features. On this page, you will be able to quickly scan around you to find where the hot spots are to find a brew. They ranked by unique users within the last 24 hour period. You can touch each venue to load their page.
Global Trending Beers

This section has remained pretty similar to V1, but with the new design. it will show you most Micro and Macro trending brews.
Drink Up

Since Untappd is all about checking in, this is how you start. The page remain similar to V1, with both Recent and Suggested. We will automatically show you the last 5 of your brews. You can search for your beer here, or get suggestions based on your taste pallet.
You will notice the ARROW on the far right of every beer box, which is a new feature that we want to help with the check-in process. Tapping this arrow will bypass the Beer Page, and get your right to the check-in page.
Beer Search Results

While the design has changed, the other area is now you can tab between Brewery results and Beer Results when you search. You can touch the Brewery to pull up their page.
My Tab

In our redesigned profile feed (which is similar to Venue, Brewery and Beers) you can see a wide range of items.
Stats
All your stats are clickable, including Unqiue Beers and Badges.
Photos

You can see all yuor photos by viewing them in a gallery format (touch the arrow) or in a single view.
Activity, Wish List, Friends
These are similar to the items we talked about before. These are available on anyone's profile.
Badges

You can view your or your friends badges by clicking on their number via the app. Once you view them, you can quickly see all earned and unearned badges.

If you select an unearned badge on your profile, the app will FINALLY tell you have many more beers you need to unlock that badge. This isn't available for all badges, but the most common ones that people ask about.
Settings
To view your Untappd settings, you can click the Settings icon on the top right of your tab. Once you do - you can update your profile, change some distance settings, and even link your social account right from the app. You can also change your auto-posting settings.

Finally - you can change Privacy settings in the last tab. In addition to turning your account private, you can also remove your friend from seeing you on a map.
Notifications

Finally, the notifications tab shows you a real-time look at your activity on Untappd. This has been re-vamped from the last release and now shows better recommendations when users comment on your comments.
You can also see our latest news in the News tab, which can be touched to open link to the content.
Beer Page

The beer pages have been redesigned to help you quickly find out the style, find the beer and check-in. By tapping any beer item, you will reach this page.
Also you will notice a REPORT function on the top right that finally allows you to propose changes to the beer, such as the ABV, name, etc. Tapping it will bring up this menu:

You can either edit it or mark for duplication and our moderator team will process the merge for you. Once you touch "Report this beer", you will see this screen:

Make your changes here and the moderators staff will review and approve your changes. Please note that these are proposed changes so they need to reviewed before applied.
