Uploading pictures

When i select "take a photo" or "choose existing" photo, ultimately what end up happening is the app restarts itself. i am unable to get photos to upload because whenever i try, the app restarts itself.....

    I tried to take a picture in the check-in area this past weekend and it again restarted the app.
    I then un/reistalled it and had the same results.

    Can you do a LogCat for the crashing?

    1. Install CatLog on your device: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nolanlawson.logcat
    2. At the event of a crash, open CatLog. 3, Hit the Menu Button > Save. Then hit Menu Button > Send > As Attachment.
    3. Send the attachment to greg AT untappd DOT com
    4. Make sure to reset CatLog after sending the logs by returning to CatLog and hit Menu Button > Play Main Log.

    I am having same trouble:

    • When I choose to upload a pic, I select it and application restarts!

    Using:

    • Android 2.3.3
    • Untappd 1.3.1
    • Samsung galaxy s phone

    I can choose existing photo but get a crash when I create new photo using the Droid camera app. It crashes right after I take the picture, and the pic ends up not being saved.

    For this issue to be solved - I need users who have the problem to send me a LogCat log of the error.

    Please follow the steps here

    Install CatLog on your device: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nolanlawson.logcat

    At the event of a crash, open CatLog. 3, Hit the Menu Button > Save. Then hit Menu Button > Send > As Attachment.
    Send the attachment to greg AT untappd DOT com
    Make sure to reset CatLog after sending the logs by returning to CatLog and hit Menu Button > Play Main Log.
    

    Make sure you follow the steps above and only start recording when you are attempting to reproduce the error.

    I too am also getting the 98% picture hang error. When uploading a pciture on my Samsung Infuse with the latest version of Untappd it will just sit at 98% and then eventually say to Try again. Its been happening for about a week now

    We're seeing an issue with a keymap file on some devices. We're still looking into it and seeing if we can fix the issue.

    Im running Android 2.2.1 Froyo. I have found a fix though, well a work around at least. When I upload an image on the AT&T network it stops at 98% but when I turn on WIFI the image will upload perfectly every time. Im not sure if this is coincidence or not but maybe it could help.

    I don't see anything out of the norm in your logs. There is no error trace - the app just closes. We are working on major update with a new version of our framework that hopefully we solve this issue. I'll send you over an APK to test in the next couple of weeks.
