This is a weird bug I observed today. Someone friended my girlfriend and me at the same time, and it showed her on the list of people in common. It was pretty confusing for us, so it seems like pending requests probably shouldn't count toward the friends in common list.

   That's strange because the query pulls only similar friends, not friends that are pending. Have you seen this happen again?

   No, but most of the friend requests I get are from real-life friends who just joined, so they have no other confirmed friends. I'll keep an eye out.

   To test this I made a new account (stupac22, I'm pretty clever) and friended both myself (stupac2) and my girlfriend (slaphappysnark). I friended myself first, and she got this e-mail:

   Hello Becky Gerard,

   Stuart Coleman has requested to be your friend on Untappd.

   You and Stuart Coleman have the following friends in common:

   * Stuart .
   

   To view this request, hop on your mobile phone and head to http://untappd.com/. You will see the friendship request at the top of the Friend Feed.

   Or you can view this request on the web by heading over to http://untappd.com. After logging in, you will see the friendship request box on the right side on your sidebar.

   You'll note that I did not accept the request.

   So this is definitely working the way I thought it was, where it include requests as friends. Also, I should have given the dummy account a different name so it would be more obvious. I'd do it again but one fake account is probably enough.

   PS: Feel free to delete stupac22, it'll never get used again.

   Ok - we found the bug and will be pushing a fix for this tonight.
