Apparently this is marked for deletion. But this definitely exists:

And I just drank some, so I know it's real.

Hi there. If you're drinking it you know that it's not a beer, but a wodka-based hard lemonade. That's why it's marked for deletion. Cheers and thanks!

Actually, the bottle is labeled both "premium malt beverage" and "flavored beer". The label also says it has been "brewed" and vodka is not mentioned anywhere on the bottle. I was under the impression that malt beverages were allowed in the Untappd database, but perhaps that policy has been changed.

Smirnoff Ice, at least the one I know, is clearly a wodka-based beverage. I didn't mark yours for deletion so it seems another SU thought the same. After some reasearch on the web it still doesn't look like a beer to me at all. If you want to, please create it again, but to me this doesn't make any sense at all.

For what it's worth, according to Wikipedia, Smirnoff Ice seems to have two versions, the malt beverage version that I drank last night that's sold in the US and France, and a vodka-based version sold in Europe outside of France, Latin America, Australia, and Canada.

Also for what it's worth, where I live, I'm pretty sure in order to sell vodka, a store has to have a liquor license, while this malt beverage version of Smirnoff Ice can be sold by a store that has a beer (or beer and wine) license.

Good to know. Thanks for the information. One will never finish learning.
