Two brewery's with the same name
Looks like there is a problem. I have loaded my beer names and brewery into Untappd and have been doing so for a while as a homebrewer. Galaxy Brewing Company in New York has their logo out and is setting them selves up for when they open in June or July. My beers that I have put in are ending up with their brewery. When I set these up I set them up as homebrew. Any fixes?
Thanks guys

Rick,
Your saying that your homebrew is the same name of a real brewery? If you can provide me your username - we can change the beers you created toward a new brewery for you. We recommend changing the name of your homebrewery to due to confusion.
Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg,
Yes, the brewery that is opening in June or July has the same name.
My user name is galaxybrewer.
Thanks,
Rick

Richard,
Have you renamed your homebrew brewery - or do you want me to do it?
Thanks,
Greg

Greg,
Sorry for the delay, haven't had a chance to work on it. I was
wondering though. If I'm a homebrewer and have listed all my beers as
so, why is there an issue with the name? Shouldn't it be by location
as well. Lots of businesses with different locations have the same
name that are not affiliated with each other. Just wondering.
Cheers,
Rick

Richard,
It causes confusion among users and the reason why some beers are placed in your brewery. Since the commercial breweries have the trademark and the license to use that name, and you just homebrewing - I just suggested you change your name to avoid the issue for users assigning and checking into the brewery.
It's totally up to you, however if that brewery comes to us and ask us to change your entry, we have to comply.
Let me me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Greg

Totally understand. Would it be possible to use "Galaxy Brewing
(Homebrew)"? After 18 years of using the name it's hard to give up as
well. Otherwise u will try to think of something.
Cheers,
Rick

Rick,
What is your brewery URL?
Also - have you claimed your homebrewery on Untappd? http://help.untappd.com/kb/brewery-claiming/how-can-i-claim-my-brew...
Thanks,
Greg

Greg,
Don't have a URL. The only thing I have done is set it up with
Foursquare for location.

Rick

Rick,
Here is your brewery on Untappd (http://untappd.com/brewery/31528). Go ahead claim that so you can manage your entries. I've already moved all your entries off the commercial brewery, and onto your brewery.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Greg

Greg,
Just on more question. When I put my phone number in does that go
public or not. I would like it to be private.
Thanks,
Rick
